Replanting. Renewing the Vineyard.

Young vine recently replanted at Universo Ferris vineyard, near the Mediterranean Sea.
Young, but ready to endure.

Growing vines at Universo Ferris is no easy task.

Here, a vine doesn't just grow: it fights and struggles.

The levante and lebeche winds, the salt in the soil, the almost extreme climate...

Everything plays a role in the story of each plant.

When a vine is young, it's more vulnerable.

It needs constant care.

In many ways, it's like a child learning to walk.

And until its root system expands and adapts, any small setback can cost it its life.

But the vine is one of the strongest plants there is.

For thousands of years, it's proven to be a resilient crop, capable of surviving nearly everything... and everyone.

It's a plant that adapts, that clings to the earth with incredible strength.

Over time, it develops deep roots that make it almost indestructible.

That's its true character, the same one that is later reflected in every grape and every bottle of wine.

In our first planting, around 18% of our vines didn't survive.

They couldn't withstand the conditions of Ferris.

It's always painful to lose vines we've planted with care, but it's part of the process.

This part February, we worked on the replanting, replacing the lost vines with care and with certainty that this time, they will establish themselves and grow stronger.

They adapt, they evolve and they grow stronger.

Maybe we need to do the same.

Hold on, reinvent ourselves when necessary and grow deeper roots to keep going.

This isn't just replanting.

This is the beginning of something bigger.

Soon, new plantings will come, new opportunities to keep building what Universo Ferris is becoming.

All the best,

Rafa
